13 In 50, the fact that Gaius Scribonius Curio, the son of Memmius’s sister, is tribune of the plebs leads Memmius to hope for a return to Rome, but, due to the increasing tension in the political environment (because of the combined maneuvers of the Senate and Pompey aimed at ensuring Caesar is stripped of his proconsular offices to render him vulnerable to legal prosecution), the question takes a back seat. Memmius dies sometime before 46.
